Hi I guys, i am writing the MCAT next summer but i want to start preparing now. I understand that the bulk of the studying and review will still be done 3-4 months from the test date but can you guys recommend what i should do now? I feel like if i learn the content now, it'll be more of a review than re-learning closer to the exam.

1) For content review, how much should i do per day?
- i have access to all the different company books, so if you could recommend what book i should use for what subject, that'd be great

2) To prepare for CARS, what kind of articles should i read?

3) What skills should i develop and how?

Thanks very much

I wouldn't advise using the review books right now. Right now, I would focus on studying for the science classes you're in now, and reviewing past science classes to remember what you learned before. Sort of like a pre-review i guess. For CARS, read some of these links:

http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/jack-westin-cars-course-practice-reading.1170083/

Try to read them for understanding, then try to read them fast whilst understanding. Write down the main idea of each article after reading them.

I started studying February and am testing July 8th.

What I would focus on now is doing well in your science courses. Once you start doing content review, nothing will seem new to you.

I would also start reading periodicals from The New Yorker, Economist, or The New York Times. DO NOT exhaust all of your CARS resources. Just get in the hang of reading and comprehending convoluted and dense articles for now.
