Good job, but why do you want to be a physician if you don't have satisfactory hours for an applicant with your metrics? What is your purpose as a physician? How did you come up with your list? (USC Keck seems random.) What's the deal with Wisconsin schools? Why West Virginia? You didn't include CWRU, Wright State, OUHCOM, or NEOMED; why is that?

I don't think volunteer hours say much at all about one's desire to be a physician. The way I see it, working as a 911 response EMT is doing more good than volunteering at a soup kitchen. I would say my application is focused around clinical experience. I understand that volunteering and research are going to be the weak areas of my application, but I don't feel the need to go to a T-20 or 30 school. I am just curious whether lacking volunteer hours is a total disqualifying factor.

As for the Wisconsin schools, I have family ties there and am a big fan of MCW. I am having trouble deciding on other schools so would appreciate some input.
Helping as an EMT helps the community in a more emergent way but food security is impactful too.

I am just helping you maximize your chances. Having zero hours is disqualifying.
