10.3.11 Breakdown & DAT Retake?

I used the following to study: Kaplan course, Chads videos, OAT Destroyer 2009, datqvault.

TS 19
AA 19

Brief Breakdown:

PAT: Angle Rankings literally impossible. Wish i got to Crack DAT PAT.
QR: Rarely studied, know your trig.!
RC: 1 and 2 were science related, 3 was on justice. Method: Read the first few questions, and quickly read through the whole passage (5 mins). Answer questions with the other 15 mins.
BIO: random as can be. Went through datqvault's 10 exams twice and Kaplan books.
GC/OR: Chad FTW.

Ive been lurking around this forum for the last few months, sucking up all the useful advises, and I still manage to screw up the DAT! Honestly, I felt unprepared going in to it, but the fact the I had already postponed it 3 times starting from August, I had to get it done. I used the following to study: Kaplan course, Chads videos, OAT Destroyer 2009, datqvault.

My other stats aren't to shabby either, 3.15 sGPA, 3.33 cGPA from reputable public school, 200+ shadowing, Dental Radiology Certificate. I've already submitted my full application to 15 schools (check predent), including secondaries and fees. Yuppp, just had to nail this DAT and 👎.


So the question is should I retake (Jan 3) with such disgusting BIO score? What should i expect from schools?

I wouldn't retake. If you don't get in this cycle, then retake but make sure you are prepared. Your scores are good, the vast majority of sections you scored higher than 17 so your above the national average. RC is great and schools don't really look at QR. Good job!

January 3 is going to be very late for this cycle. I would recommend seeing if you get in this cycle and if you don't then plan on retaking before June. The reason I say this is because you want to be SURE that you can improve all of your scores not only Biology. Not that your scores are all that bad.

It also depends what schools you applied to. A 19 AA and 19 TS is the cut off for some schools.

your stats are okay. 3.15 sgpa, 19aa/19TS looks....average like the rest of pool of applicants. maybe even a bit on the lower side with your gpa. whats your bcp?
i dunno if youve graduated or not, but i hope youre taking more classes this semester thatll go into your UG bcp/science.
your DAT looks good overall but the bio section as a 17, with a 3.15 science.....i wouldnt be impressed if i was an adcom, but thats just my opinion.
congrats if uve already gotten some interviews (have u?) , and just keep working on ur gpa this term and i have hope youll get in SOMEWHERE this cycle
also.....unfortunatley i might even advise you to retake your DAT.....ONLY because of the 17 BIO and the 15QR (yea i know schools dont care really, but thats really quite low....). so yea id suggest a retake in january, i mean, keep trying until its too late for this cycle. at least ull know u did everything u could!
