I guess I should learn from my mistakes faster, but I'm tired of this secondary bull$&%. How can you legitimately have a secondary in which the time for it to close out is like 5 minutes? I will work on an essay. Move to the next essay (so on and so forth) and I'll hit save. But NOOOOOO you're logged out mother f*****. Now you have to rewrite/recopy/paste/GAHHHHH. I'm literally raging right now.

Calm down. Write the essays in Word and then copy them into the secondary. Problem solved, no need to rage.

Write, proofread, spellcheck and save your secondaries in Word or another word processing program. When you're done, copy and paste them into the application. Problem solved. This also lets you save essays so you can use them again when multiple schools ask the same essay question, which happens fairly frequently.

Type faster or copy and paste??

Interesting. I thought the "inactivity" time extension was online and running. 😕

I understand your pain mate. Happened to me with OHSU's essay. Just move on and write on Word....

Get the prompts & character limits from the web form, and then don't log in again until you've written all your essays in a word document. It's pretty basic stuff and some of the apps explicitly instruct you to do the same.

 LOL! Yeah I had some old ones in word and was copying and pasting portions into other ones. Guess it just took too long. Ill just do EVERYTHING in word from now on.

Use Lazarus 🙂

Why wouldn't you write anything important in a program that allows you to save backups (e.g. Microsoft Word) and then just copy and paste when you're done? Presumably you have basic answers to the basic secondary question prompts anyway, then can just edit them to fit each school's application form.

Buzz outside CT Surg duties 😱😱
How does it feel to be outside the cave, brother

I like to write my essays in a Google Doc. That way you can have word counts (I can't believe I've written 94,000 characters), perpetual saving/backups, access from any computer, and easy sharing if you want someone to proofread.

Just sayin'.
