Anyone else going to this one? Does anyone have any advice on what to expect? This is my first interview so I'm super nervous and have no idea what it's going to be like.
Does anyone know what constitues "until mid-afternoon" for the scheduling? I've emailed and left a message, but no one has responded yet (I imagine they are flooded with people asking the same questions.) I'm contemplating trying to catch a 6pm flight out RDU, and didn't know if I would have enough time.
monkeykat - I'm guessing, if you look at the day's schedule that it will probably go til 3 or 4. Then think 30 minutes to the airport in good traffic, checking in...you SHOULD be fine if it doesn't go later than 4.
Hey-- I was part of the group that was accepted in the early decision cycle and the interview will go from morning till about 4 (if I remember correctly). There were roughly 10 of us at the interview. We went through a meet and greet, mock classroom session to explain TBL, lunch with current students, tour, individual interviews, closing.
Thanks to both of you for your input! I went ahead with the same day flight because it was $150 cheaper. Although, it means I'll have to carry around my luggage.
I assume by your handle, Bluedevil2016, that you accepted and are excited about the Duke program--congratulations!
My understanding is that they will conduct the November 30th interviews and then select for the January/February dates based on how many spots are still open at that point. I haven't seen anyone post about having interviews on the Jan/Feb dates. The only reason I know about them is because I had to reschedule from the November date due to work. They told me to try to come for the January interview since more spots will be open in the class at that point than there will be in February (but not to freak out if I had to wait until Feb. because there will still be spots). It's definitely way too early to let your hopes get down, and based on your stats you should be very confident. Their admissions are also rolling so it depends on when you submitted your application. Good luck!!
