Accepted counts.

I'm waiting to submit 2 more and then I'll update schools with an acceptance and multiple submissions.

I think it's a good time to update things now.

So a paper, of which i'm 3rd author, was recently accepted for publication by a relatively high Impact factor journal. It is currently in press while we work on the editorial changes the journal wants. I also have a couple other updates (including an award and 2 new volunteer position) that I waited to lump together with the paper pub as 1 update letter.

My question is that when should I update schools? Should I wait till the paper is actually online with the citation an what not, or can I update them now citing the paper as in press?

If I do the in press option, do I need to email the schools again with the actual citation when the paper is actually published?

Thanks!
Congratulations. Are the revisions requested minor or major? If minor, I agree it would be legit to inform a school of the acceptance of the manuscript now. An award in hand is also worth mentioning. But new volunteer positions without accumulated hours won't have any helpful impact and might be better saved for a later opportunity.

Thanks! The changes are just stuff like spelling out abbreviations that we missed or make sure the changes the editorial office made are correct.

Generally, the editorial changes journal editors suggest are extremely minor after publications have been accepted. In that case, go ahead and update your application to any school that accepts updates.
