Think about this letter from the viewpoint of an admissions committee member. How do you think this letter would make you look to them?

I understand. I don't even have to think about it from their viewpoint. I'm actually disappointed.

How much better of a letter could said person have written in your volunteer position. You don't need a letter from every experience.

I did not ask to see this letter from one of my references but received it anyway, and I suppose this is my fault because maybe I didn't give enough information... My writer has written letters before but apparently not for medical school. Here is the letter I received:

So my whole point of this is to get any opinions on what I should do with this letter. I wouldn't have asked for a letter if I didn't think this person could knew me and could write a strong letter, but I definitely have other letter writers. I figure if this (3 sentences!) is all this writer really has to say about me, I shouldn't use this letter at all, or perhaps I should ask for a longer letter (in a professional way, of course)...?

This is why when requesting letters you should give the attached AAMC guide to letter writers as @gyngyn noted above
