So I'm starting to really study for the DAT and stuck on a date to register for. I tried studying on top of my schoolwork during the semester but 18 credits made it rare that I had time to so I put it off until after the semester. I do plan on applying June 4th so I would like to take it as soon as possible, but don't want to rush it and hurt my score. I feel that I could cover a good amount of the material without waiting too long to take it, but if I can have more time it'll obviously be better. Pretty much debating between two dates, June 30th or July 11th, any suggestions? Thanks.

Apply as early as possible. You can retake it if necessary during the cycle and update them later.

I agree with @vrzc that applying early is key.

That said, take your DAT only when you are ready. There is a 90 day waiting period before retakes. So if you take it on June 30 and don't perform as well as you expected, the earliest you can retake will be September 30. For this reason, I vote for July 11.

Taking it in September in the (hopefully) unlikely case that you need to retake it will be fine. Applying as early as possible is more important from an admission standpoint. Get yourself ready and take it on June 30.
