Unless they offer less seats after prime "step season" (spring/early summer), I don't see why it would be hard to secure a seat. The vast majority of test-takers would have already taken it. Maybe I'm missing something?
Your biggest logistical challenge will likely be your rotation schedule and applying for residency, especially if you're going for something that your school only allows you to take in your fourth year.
