hello all...so i took my DAT's and my scores were

pat 18
AA 20
TS 22
Bio 20
Ochem 24
Gchem 23
Read 18
QR 13!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think Ive ever heard of a 13 before...what do u guys think i should do??? this was my third time taking it and i dont know if i should retake??? please help!!!😀

Don't feel bad- I got a 13 on QR, too!
I'd go ahead and apply if it's your 3rd time taking it. They might want you to take it again after they see your other scores (which are really good). Just choose your schools wisely and don't be intimidated by the people on these internet forums. Half of them probably lie about their scores and the other half are super-dorks with nothing better to do than ace the DAT. (I do like this forum, though- I get a kick out of everybody here.)

Anyways, what's your GPA? I think that will be the tipping point in your application. Yes, QR is low but I think that's true for a lot of people. Kudos on the other scores.

did u get better score in that section on ur previous DAT?
I heard that 3rd time is the last chance you have on DAT.
But u do have really high scores in other subjects.

my gpa overall is 3.0 and my science is 3.2 and my non-formal post bacc is a 3.5

i didnt take the DAT's recently, i actually took it in Nov 2007. i just decided to post and see what my chances were. i do have a lot of EC and i also did receive 2 interviews this cycle, but im not getting any responses so kinda getting scared. im just thinking if i should retake my DATs to help my chances of getting in...please help!!!

To the OP, I'd definitely apply with those scores. A 13 in QR might raise some eye brows but I think you'll get in some where.

I am sorry but I think we only get 3 chances for DATs. But I would definitely take some math classes such as cal 1 and 2 and show them the grades for that. because a lot of schools will overlook your scores if you did good in your math classes assuming that it was the time limit that got to you on DATs! But other then that I think u did really well. also can I please ask you how did you study for your sciences. 🙂

thank you so much for the feedback!!! i studied like everyone else =) the sciences...i used the destroyer, exam krackers, bio textbook, kaplan material, top score, and achiever. not much different from the others, huh???? thank you once again!!!

Is it a good thing to use the DAT destroyer from this year or something from last year will also work, its actually from APril of 2007 and what is the best way to study for the DAT, some tips please!!!

Sandhudent.....you have been misinformed. You can take the DAT more than 3 times because I just received conformation to take it a 4th time. You have to send the ADA one of four things:
1) A letter from a dental school asking permission for you to take it a 4th time.
2) A denial letter from the previous cycle
3) A letter from you pre-dental advisor at your university
4) Cant remember what this is

I had my pre-dental advisor write the ADA a letter for me and then I had to send in a short essay explaining why I needed to take it again.

I am in a similar situation as the OP although my overall scores aren't as good. My instate school has asked me to take it again specifically due to QR. They said that they wouldnt even take into consideration that I made a 18 in QR the first time I took it and a 19 the second time. Kinda sucks.....

I also got a 13 on the QR as well, and I have already been accepted into Dental Score. Considering you have good scores in the other sections ( better scores than I had), I would say you should be fine, but I guess it depends where you want to go to school.
