I think you’re in that weird middle ground where you’re not quite low enough to need the master’s but still not great. I think it’s worth applying without spending the money on SMP right away, but that is 100% dependent on your MCAT score. You need 514+ in my opinion, not just 510.
 
As a current AmeriCorps member/someone with similar stats, I would highly recommend AmeriCorps! Especially if you’re considering CityYear or a health-related program!! If you think a masters would make you miserable, don’t do it!!
 
50+ hours, 5 different specialties. I'm really fine on shadowing, why are you focusing on this?.

Because the way you phrased it was ambiguous: "50 hrs clinical w/ 150 projected for gap year, shadowing, etc.)"

So does that mean you have 50 hours shadowing and no other clinical experience? Just trying to understand what your application looks like. These details matter.
