My answer is neither. Contemplating applying prior to being prepped for the MCAT, an exam that will may decide if you will be a physician or not and thus the rest of your life, especially when your head is in a panic this making a horrible mindset for the exam, is so counterproductive as to decrease you chances of acceptance. Until you have a score in your hand you should consider applying and by that time it is late in the cycle.
Forget applying, focus on MCAT, take in Sept, blow it away, apply next cycle

I think he already submitted his primary application. OP schools don’t have to wait for your new score to evaluate your application and AMCAS encourages schools to average multiple rest scores. I’m wondering for you will manage to study for the MCAT and complete secondaries at the same time.

I submitted my primary with one school. I was going to take the July 20th MCAT, and prewrite secondaries while waiting for my score. My hope is to be complete by late August, early Sept.

The OP should have been spending all his/her time prepping for MCAT and not splitting time and focus in polishing AMCAS. Right now I think the OP’s head is spinning in an MCAT panic. If anything, the MCAT is an exam that demands you have self-assurdness and confidence when you take. Solely on attitude and that panic, with worry about will I be late, will I be competitive, will affect MCAT performance, on that basis I dont recommend retake with pressure of the cycle in shoulders unless OP is consistently getting 515+ on practice

I understand what you mean. But I actually had not split my time on AMCAS and MCAT that much. I began studying for my retake in mid-Feb, and my AMCAS PS and most-meaningfuls were already done by then. I took 8 practice tests and on the Altius sections, scored 127-128 consistently on C/P. Both my AAMC FL 1 and 2 C/P scores were 127, and my sample test was 129.

Maybe the 125 C/P on AAMC was a fluke, and I'd do better on test day. But it's a retake for me, and I want to be sure. Organic and Metabolism are my two weaknesses. If I go hardcore on that, I feel confident I can get 128 on the sciences. That puts me at ~513. I was going to pre-write secondaries right after July 20th, not during my MCAT. Considering my ECs and GPA, will a 513 score release on August 20th honestly be too low and late for someone like me? just wanted to give you a little more context!

You are going to do it anyway, why waste our time asking for our blessing. As long as everything including secondaries and LORs are in by Labor Day, you are good in my book.

Gawd, I hate this type of thinking. My kids used to say this all the time when they were little, and I'd have to answer "maybe you'll flap your arms and fly to the moon?"

Maybe you have trouble with handling all four sections of the exam at once and by trying to master CP, you'll end up blowing a different category?

EDIT:the median MCAT score for MD acceptees is 511, and for Einstein class schools, it's 515.

I believe OP’s question is whether he should take the mcat on June 29th or July 20th. I would do July 20th if you believe you can crank up the C/P studying. Getting it up to 127-128 is worth it!

I wouldn’t worry about the difference between being verified early Aug vs late Aug with all of those hours and your GPA. Worry more about being less stressed for your MCAT retake and getting that score up!

This is my first 125 on C/P, that's why I said that. I consistently got 127-128s on supposedly harder 3rd party FLs and other AAMC material. Okay, so assuming I get 511-513 on my retake in July (score comes August 21), I should go ahead and add the rest of my MD schools?
I have the suspicion that you're going to do it anyway, so I'll just quote the wise @HomeSkool :
Taking the MCAT is like getting married: ideally you only do it once, and the more times you do it the worse you start looking to suitors with good judgment.

Adcoms are coming from a different(probably better perspective), but I think the point is if you insist on applying this cycle, ensure you score well and take the later date. The "delayed" application duration won't hurt you as much as doing poorly on the MCAT.

I always hear conflicting information on SDN lol some say being complete by Labor Day is early, some say it's late. Some say secondaries come immediately, others say it takes weeks. It's confusing for me...I guess at this point, I should focus on what I have in hand.

I scored a 127 C/P and a 126 B/B on my MCAT last time. Which minimum science scores would adcoms be expecting of my retake in order for me to be seriously considered? If I scored a 125 on a science, or another 126, will that hurt me significantly even if I have 128-130s in the other sections?

You keep asking the same thing. The answer is get the your best score in each. If you’re going to go for it this cycle, Go STUDY!!

I agree with this

STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE SCORE AND JUST FOCUS ON TAKING THE FREAKIN' EXAM!
STOP WORRYING ABOUT IF/WHEN YOU'RE VEFIFIED/COMPLETE AND JUST FOCUS ON TAKING THE FREAKIN' EXAM
STOP WORRYING ABOUT IF YOU ARE GONNA BE COMPETITIVE AND JUST FOCUS ON TAKING THE FREAKIN' EXAM

And yes these kind of question is why my avatar looks that way
