There are some medical schools that have a thesis requirement (Yale, Northwestern, etc.). If there are any students that attend these universities, what are the pros and cons of such a requirement?

I haven't attended med school yet but one clear advantage I've seen on here is people saying that the research helps with residency so it's nice to have it as a requirement.

In your opinion, which is more advantageous, a research / project requirement or a thesis requirement? Was curious if you had any views.

Don’t let the NRMP numbers fool you. One project can lead to multiple outcomes.

And honestly I don’t think it matters.
