Let me give you the definitive answer to that:
some may check before as part of the eval (via automated process)
some may check after
some may check at time of acceptance
some may not check at all

glad I could clear that up for you

BTW, since this is now something you cant change, then worrying about it only adds FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt). Move on

I have it set up to where I know when somebody Googles my name and clicks on one of the top links. Most of that happened prior to interviews. I think once the interviewer gets your name, they're inclined to take a look around just to see who you are. They're not intentionally trying to pry into your social media but if one of the top links is it, they'll probably click on it.

It also depends on the context of what you say. If it's hate-oriented to racially-motivated, then you're gonna have a lot of problems no matter how long ago it was. If it's just "Damn, I had a bad day," it's not gonna make much of a difference.

Personally, I'm planning on applying next year. After my MCAT im putting everything on private and deleting my post in all sites.

That actually makes no sense. Plenty of things pre-medical students worry about are just them being neurotic. I don't know the extent of the damage done. That's why I asked.

Dude, it’s profanity. Only reason to be worried is if you used in a context that would (for very obvious reasons) offend people.

I share a name with some philippino kid who lives in australia and when you google my name his instagram pops up as like the 12th result and its all just pictures of him giving the finger. I am a 28 year old white guy from the US so hopefully adcoms don't get us mixed up :smack:

when you say prior to interviews, do you mean prior to interview invitations or the actual interviews

Prior to actual interviews was when I got pinged the most. Makes sense since the interviewer wants to know who you are.

Besides an unused Linkdn account I don't use my birth name for social media sites. I never have.

You guys do realize even if you have a very common name, if someone does a boolean search, it can be narrowed down? ie. John Smith + city where you're from or college where you went etc... If they want to find you, it's not hard.

Nice to meet you, John Smith

John/Jane Doe would work as well.

I'm not used to the term "boolean" being used outside of a true/false, yes/no, or other binary options via my programming days. I had to Google it.
