Hello everyone! I was looking to get advice on my particular situation. I am a 28 year old NA female with a non-academic related IA. I went to a service academy so the IA was an honor violation when one of the dorm residents accused me of property damage. I fought the accusations but was ultimately found by the board composed of my peers. Due to that situation, I had weak grades during that semester and I ended up having to withdraw the second semester since the leadership at my school wanted me gone. I appealed that decision and ended up being enrolled in a mentorship program during my remaining time at the school and graduating a year later. The incident happened seven years ago but it still makes me apprehensive about starting this whole process. I still need to complete my required premed courses since I was an engineering major and ended up dropping the premed track to focus on my major and character rehabilitation. I have about five years in military service and I'm looking to try to continue this journey of getting into medical school. I'm debating on whether I should go through a post bacc or move on. The programs I'm looking at ask for any IAs and I'm not sure how to handle it. I've got people who are willing to write me recommendations for the program but I don't know if this is something I should have my former professors talk about. Anyway, I've called my school and they aren't very helpful in providing records for my IA. Any recommendations on how to move forward? Thanks!
