Hi guys!

I just got my grades back today and out of my classes, I got a bad grade in one of them (C-/D+)... It was not a prereq! It was an elective class (but a science elective for my major). I really didn't expect that as I studied hard and worked my butt off but the curve still killed me. My other 3 classes are B+/As.

The transcript looks kinda like this:
Class 1: A
Class 2: A-
Class 3: C-/D+
Class 4: B+

I do have another semester of classes and don't expect such a dip in my grades. I am pretty scared that my dental school that I choose and accepted (deposited and etc.) will flag me and perhaps rescind me once I send them my final transcripts end of spring... should I be worried? I feel like I could always retake the class next semester too if necessary to get a higher grade! I could give them a call too but i'm scared lol. Should I be panicking?!?!?

Thanks!!!

Do you think re-taking the class and getting a higher grade would fix the issue?

Are you planning on attending UCSF? I would contact the admissions office and ask them first because either way even if you retake they will still reevaluate your transcript

No but I was just wondering if that's the same policy for my school I will be attending. But okay that's good to know thank you!

It depends on the school. Some wanted B or higher, while others are okay with Cs.
I'd call about the D+

I'd definitely call. If it is an issue, you can either call now and figure it out (potentially accept a seat at another school if you need to) or later once you submit your final transcripts, at which point you might be stuck without a seat and needing to reapply for the upcoming cycle.
