I personally think it is bad to over-rehearse and practice interviews. If you get too comfortable with practice questions or a script...you will perform even worse when the throw you something that you aren’t prepared for. Genuinely, interviewing is a skill that you cannot acquired through practicing interviews. It is a talent you get better at through prolonged exposure to public speaking and leadership roles. All you need to do is just calm down, don’t stress or fret and just talk. Everyone gets nervous, and if you focus too much on the practice (particularly feeling like you havent had enough) then you will be more stressed for the real thing and will fail harder than with less practice/less stress. You will do just fine - go to the 5 day from now interview.I have an interview coming up soon. It is in 5 days, but one day is practically gone for travel! I'm really worried about not being prepared and wanted to know the pros and cons of rescheduling versus going in with less prep
Thoughts?
Ask the person who sits next to you if they would be willing to ask you questions about yourself. That's plenty of time for prep. Also you won't lose a day for travel, just practice on the plane![]()
strongly with agree this! This is ridiculous. You'll never feel ready, there's not such thing. You'll always feel nervous.
Rescheduling now is going to hurt you so much more than just going in 4 days. Whatever "extra" time you get will not prepare you enough to overcome the inconvenience to the school at this point.
You need to just chill and be yourself. Go read my interview tips thread.
