A thank you note is never a bad idea (bonus points if it is handwritten). Addressing it to the director of admissions makes sense to me. Second look weekend is for everyone. Of course, it helps undecided students to make up their minds. But it is also for you to meet your future classmates and get a better feel for the school. Some people even meet their future roommates. If your budget allows, I would definitely attend.
