You can go into medicine from any school, and UMass Amherst is a solid undergrad. I wouldn’t choose Case because it has more hospital opportunities; I guarantee you can get those experiences at any undergrad.

That said, if I were you I’d focus much more on 1) mentorship from professors; 2) opportunities to explore (is it easy to register for the classes you want? Are you excited by the extracurricular opportunities—or is it easy to start your own club? Do you see people doing creative things with their education?) 3) overall vibe (competitive? Quirky?) 4) what you and your family are comfortable paying or taking loans out for... I’ll do a quick plug that coming out of undergrad debt free is the DREAM.

If you choose the place you’ll be happier, I guarantee that will translate to better performance in undergrad.

I’m leaning towards attending UMass, but I was worried about finding hospital volunteering/shadowing experience as Amherst does not have many hospital. Whereas, CWRU has multiple hospitals right nearby so finding these opportunities should be pretty easy.
Just something to consider - yes, CWRU has multiple hospitals right nearby. But Cleveland/NE Ohio also has about a dozen colleges and 3 medical schools, all of whom will have students looking for opportunities to shadow, volunteer, do research, etc. Case has a lot of pre-med students and there will be a lot of competition for those opportunities. So while these opportunities may be there, they're not necessarily accessible, particularly the ones involving direct patient contact.

And you don't need a fancy hospital to shadow or volunteer - I guarantee you Amherst has some community doctors who'd be happy to have someone shadow them, not to mention free clinics, hospice organizations, EMS volunteer/work opportunities, and so on.

Is this debt that you personally would be taking? Like you'd graduate with $180,000 of college debt if you went to Case???

No sorry just clarified in my post. I would not be going into debt with any of my options. I would be able to spend around 200-240k before I’d need to take out loans, but I’d like to save money for med school so I don’t have to take out an absurd amount in loans
