not Ds or Fs
None of this matters enough to bring up. Don’t try to spin it any way, positive or negative, just leave it alone. You are good.cGPA: 3.64, sGPA: 3.76, MCAT: 516, URM
Please define what you consider to be "low grades"?Currently working on U Maryland Secondary and I am asked to explain "poor grades" in one of the prompts. I had a rough-ish senior year and my GPA dropped about 0.02-0.03 as I was working two part-time jobs (about 25-30 hours per week) along with research and everything else. No BS, I just had a rough time adjusting to this schedule. I ended up getting a few low-ish grades in some classes (not Ds or Fs but definitely far from my performance in my other science classes).
The problem is I don't really know how to put a positive spin on this. Some of the classes I didn't do so hot in were upper-level biology classes, and I scored well on the MCAT biology section, so maybe I could use that as evidence that I still learned the material? I also work full-time in a lab now, so was thinking about maybe talking about how I've learned to better balance work with other activities...idk any ideas? Is my reason for the GPA drop totally dumb and make me look like a weenie who won't be able to handle med school? lol I have decent numbers otherwise (cGPA: 3.64, sGPA: 3.76, MCAT: 516, URM)
