Seton Hall
Temple
New York Medical College
Oakland Beaumont
TCU-UNT
When are you planning to apply ?

Any DO program. I can't recommend Touro-NY, Nova, Wm Carey, LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide. LMU has an accreditation warning, which concerns me. CalHS is too new and appears to be too limited in rotations sites.

I'm considering retaking the MCAT due to my CARS score, would you advise against doing so?

Retaking will only work in your favor if you show significant (5+ points) improvement; otherwise it will be neutral or even hurt you. If you are consistently getting 517+ on official AAMC practice tests, you might consider it, otherwise don't retake.

My stat is quite similar to yours, 3.7/3.7/509, and I am all in for DO this cycle. I think you should consider DOs as a possibility.

Hello! I applied this cycle and have similar stats (MCAT-511, GPA-3.77) graduated from a respected ug institution. Have you thought about applying to Albany? I received an II and they are OOS friendly, cool school too. Best of luck!

I am applying next cycle! And I'm kind of set on MD schools at the moment.
Get more clinical and non clinical volunteer hours, do a good job on your PS and secondary, submit good LORs, and apply broadly. Add more to the list above. I think 30 will do the job. Your MCAT and GPA are only slightly below matriculated average. You should get some love. good luck.

You have decent stats. Improve your ECs. Believe in your self, chose your school wisely and put in a good application. Set your compass on MD and don't stray from it. Fair Winds and Following Seas. You got this.

are my hours low in those categories?

I would disagree with the post you are replying to. Your hours are fine (box checking but fine) and you live in a good state. In my non expert opinion there is no need to apply to 30+ schools, better save money for interviews and polish your secondaries. Go for some 20 MD and 4-5 DO schools just as a back up. You have a good application and should not have problems with getting in. Good luck.

Thank you for the advice! I appreciate everyone's support so far, it really is helping
