So I got 4 IIs in 2 weeks after being complete in mid august. Nothing since. Some T10/T20s I applied to have sent out batches of IIs since. Do I assume they've reviewed my app and passed on me atm or do I assume they haven't read my app yet? I have good stats, but they are around the median at these schools so idk if I would be placed in a fast track pile. I also have no Rs or Holds from schools that have already sent those out.
Not fast tracked, but you are not out of the running. I too have had a couple waves of II with nothing in between. I too have heard nothing from many schools who have already sent out rejections. Just wait, young one.

Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification is not.

Schools stratify the apps as they come in and don't send out secondaries or IIs merely in chronological order.

Secondaries are often a tax on the hopelessly naïve, if not pathologically optimistic.

Not you, but SDNers are advised to NOT think in the mindset of “I sent in my apps; where are my interviews???”

I'm in a similar situation, I got 2 II in late July and have heard nothing besides 2 holds and I R. I'm trying to stay calm and remember that they might not have looked at me yet. Keep your head up and congrats on 4 II!

How many times do you usually post this per app cycle? My guess is 50+?

One interview invite is good, two invites are great, three or more are fantastic. So sit down, shut up, thank your good fortune instead of sounding like a greedy wanna-be gunner

You assume nothing and dont bother thinking about it. Speculating is a waste of time,

And this fast tracked pile is something you know of because?

Schools are only obligated to notify you of: 1) interview invite 2) admission action (acceptance or alternate). At no time is a school required to inform you of a hold or rejection. Indeed a large fraction of applicants will never receive any notification from a school. If they dont have an acceptance or WL by April 30, that will be the end
So I know your intentions are pure, but wow does this come off as ad hominem and completely unnecessary. Sorry if I somehow personally offended you.

You are so miserable, man. Take a nap.

You didnt offend me. My intentions are exactly as I sounded. applicants need to be reminded sometimes how good their fortunes already are and realize

So, lets see I was blunt and accurate and reminding people they sometimes need to grateful for what they have and not be greedy for what they dont. I am happy as happy as a "chazzer in drek".

Read Goro and LM's posts and then yours. If you don't see the difference then I can't help you. You come off as one of those crazy folks that sit on Facebook and yell about millennials all day long.

My theory is that as ppl submit their applications,
keywords like “research” “URM” or some other feature like super high stats, major awards etc funnel the apps toward the fast track review lane.

All others just stand in queue in the order of submission and so those will be reviewed by submission date (slow lane).

SDNers come here for realistic advice, not and kisses. The wise gonnif gave the former.

True that. Gonnif’s advice is blunt an honest and correct. But the “sit down, shut up, take what you get else you’re a greedy bastard” approach is excessive, dontchyu think?
We both from NYC, where we use the term "F you" as a greeting.

Gonnif: The little brat was diagnosed with PREMED

@Goro : I would have thought he was a completely different pathology.

This is actually really hilarious and I LOL'ed
Perfect way to put it. Could not have been put in more perfect terms.
So few words capture them perfectly.

Yeah, but we also know that you don't mean it.

NYer's may be gruff, but a NYer is a friend for life and we'll go to the wall for you.
Best bagel spot? Essa? Russ and daughters?

Fast track applicants are SAVAGES: founded a chain of bagel stores worth tens of millions? SAVAGE leadership that might get you a fast track spot, if you have a SAVAGE GPA and MCAT.

I have just learned I started off my New York secondaries the wrong way.

Should I send an update letter with the correct greeting?

Edit: If thats how my dad greets me do I get legacy status?

Only if you are from NYC as well. As goro stated... they are BOTH from New York. I believe it would only serve to offend the adcom if you are not a local and sent an update with such a greeting. Moreover, the members of the adcom may themselves not even be from NYC, so you could end up with something of a double whammy!
