There’s no way to explain in your primary that your exposure was through paid employment?

Dunno how you’ll go to list it but to me paid experience >> shadowing a DO. They’ll know you better and can speak to your character compared to someone that shadowed 20 hours. Has the DO write you a LOR

The fact that I worked with DOs isn’t as clear as it should be in my primary, but it’s already verified and I wouldn’t be able to update it. An oversight on my part. I’m just hoping to make it clearer in secondaries.

I indeed have a DO LOR. Maybe the letter and referencing my work history in “why DO” prompts may be sufficient, on second thought.

Yeeeeee sounds good to me!

That would be a good idea. I stated that I shadowed a DO who really pushed me to go to med school so it was more this specific physician was someone I emulated which is why I applied DO. This will also allow you to keep away from the cringing clickbait terms. Just talk about your boss being a character you emulate and then they are a DO

A couple secondaries and app forms are asking for names of DO physicians I've shadowed, but, I only have paid yet extensive employment working with several DOs. I have only shadowed MD.
Aside from my primary application, there isn't a good place to explain to these schools that my DO exposure is through paid employment.

For secondaries, is it warranted to list these doctors under those I've 'shadowed' and try and make a note somewhere explaining this?
Or should I try to integrate my work history into one of the secondary questions even if it's not explicitly asked for?

I don't want this significant part of my app to be glossed over, so any advice on how to make this more clear would be appreciated.
I work with MD's and DO's extensively as well, but I still shadowed each for 50 hours. I would still shadow a DO if you can. Others will be checking every box that they can, so I would try and not lose needless points if you can help it.
