Yea I also love that it’s a smaller school too. But I don’t think there’s much to do in the actual city which I’m worried about. I really liked Marquette’s program because they have a really good mentoring program where they put you with a dentist when you’re a D1. Affordable housing is right across the school so I wouldn’t need a car. 24hr library and the city of Milwaukee has tons to do there. I know that I’ll be in dental school, but I still would like to have a life outside of dental school.Just reading the title, I liked UNMC best. After reading, I like UNMC even better.
Edit: Some reasoning to support my thoughts (besides $$)... The class size at UNMC is much smaller than the other schools. This indicates to me that you will have more attention from your professors, more patients to go around, tighter-knit group of classmates. Smaller class size is a big factor that is often overlooked imo.
I'll give it to you have Milwaukee is more exciting that Lincoln, but Omaha is close by and you won't really be going out on weeknights anyway so the distance won't be too big of a deal. Housing should be relatively inexpensive in Lincoln as well.Yea I also love that it’s a smaller school too. But I don’t think there’s much to do in the actual city which I’m worried about. UNMC is a small school and seems to have a very supportive staff which I love. But the city is so boring and I don’t think they have clubs to partake in. So I’m torn. But thanks for the insight!
