I think its good you're trying to show your dedication to the medical field, but I personally would not enroll in that program, especially since its $50k and I presume medical schools won't care about your grades in this type of program.

If your GPA is not competitive, then consider a post-bacc/SMP.

If it is competitive, then you have many ways to demonstrate your commitment to medicine through a clinical/research job and/or volunteering.

Agreed. Your only goal should be to address the reason you believe you might not have gotten an II. If they are grades, then go for a post-bac/SMP (in this situation, you'll likely be taking 2 gap years), and if you think it is experience, then find a clinical job.

Hi,

I currently have no II, so I'm planning to reapply next cycle. I'm working full time in a non-medical field but was accepted into the Columbia IHN M.S. program. Should I continue working full-time during the next cycle or go get a masters + research experience? I know I won't be able to put the Columbia stuff on my app, but would it show dedication to the medical field and be useful to have a publication under my belt further down the line?

Hey! Quick question. I am thinking about applying to this program. Just wondering... Did you apply with a test score? And how long was the response time?
