By tutoring Biology, you will be constantly reviewing material that you would need to know for a long time.

What's the pay like? If it's reasonable, then might as well do it for extra cash. If it doesn't pay well, then maybe your time could be better utilized somewhere else.

Hey all,
I had an interview for the position yesterday and didn't expect to be offered the job on the spot, so I accepted it in the moment, without realizing it is a 6-8 hour commitment. Do you think I should do it? I am currently a sophomore and here are other relevant details:

GPA: 3.95/4 (but that's with a few 4.3 for A+'s), science GPA is like a 3.83/4 IIRC
Clinical volunteering: I plan to do it this semester, but don't know if it will be too much to balance. I'd like to do both tutoring and volunteering but I don't know how feasible that is. Currently I have literally none, thinking about doing it this summer in a program
Volunteering: 10 hours for teaching English
Research: In a lab currently, will probably take for credit, it's clinical research so I don't think a pub is likely

I participated in SHPEP last year, if that helps.

Just kind of torn on if should take the tutoring job and/or do some volunteering (clinical or not) instead).

AMCAS treats A+ grades as a 4.0 not a 4.3. LSAC (law school) is the application service with a GPA bonus for A+ grades.

If you can do both volunteering and tutoring, great. If not, prioritize the volunteering. You are lacking in that department, and you should get started on that as soon as you can, even if just a few hours a week/month.
