I am a freshman, and I have completed 12 hours so far, which was from last spring semester. I am about to start my fall semester, and am so far only taking 14 hours. This includes Chemistry 1 w/lab, Botany w/lab, Trigonometry, and ...a Computer Science class...- Should I drop the computer science course and take something else?...So far, what do you think about my schedule only containing 14 hours?

Only you can determine if it's enough or not for you. It depends on how you manage your time and if you have a part time job, but I think it looks fine.

You should take what your comfortable with... better to have time down, than to not have enough and try and rush classes

Sahweeeeeeeet!

they count by hours?
im not sure how it works?
how does it work, i've only know like semester units n such, but wut bout hours?

Well, at my university, we do have units but for some reason I guess we call them hours. Chem1 = 3 hours, Chem1LAB = 1 hour, Botany= 4 hours, BotanyLAB= 0 hours (But I still have to take it), Trigonometry= 3 hours, Microcomputer App= 3 hours, Microcomputer App LAB= 0 hours (but still have to take it) ............Two out fo my three labs don't have grades for them. Haha! Too cool!

Free advice, take it or leave it:

If English is not your first language, it's really in your best interests to practice using it at every opportunity. That includes posting in chatrooms and message boards like this one, where you're exposed to members of the professional community as well as your peers.

"Text-speak" makes people look stupid, in my opinion, and it can only hurt you in your use of English.

LMFAO, OMG IDK dat u hated "text-speak"!😀

To jayce00, credit hours and units are synonymous terms. Different schools use one of these terms.

I'd say 15-16 credits (hours) would be more ideal, but 14 should be fine.
My upcoming semester is 18 credits (hours) including honors O-chem, genetics, and nutrition. That's the max I can take without going on "overload." I would really like to drop 1-2 credits (hours), but I'm trying to earn a B.S. in Animal Science, as I fulfill the pre-pharm pre-reqs, so I need to take more credits per semester to accomplish this.
