One step at a time - I say we worry about that when we get closer to that. Most medical schools don't start until August (while some do in July) and that gives us a buffer of 4-5 months. For now, we should just focus on what we can do now to minimize the spread, imo

What are all your thoughts on coronavirus possibly affecting matriculation into med school this fall? (online classes, no white coat ceremony etc)

If we are still talking global pandemic in the middle of Summer (4+ months away), we likely have much bigger problems than white coat ceremonies. It will likely accelerate existing trends (online classes) but it would be wild to still see society in hiding that long into a disease course.

Likely it would peter out by developing immunity and spread slowing by the growing travel and gathering restrictions. It may still return as the flu does, but good odds say life will go on, it usually does.

Agree with this. I've read reports that things may subside by the summer (although in the near future, things may get worse before recovering).
Too far ahead to worry about I think. Practicing good hygiene and such may be the most important things for now.

I think this virus may be helping individuals on waitlists at schools who conduct late interviews, as some schools are canceling their late March interviews or not schedule any new interviews, which decreases the number of applicants competing for a spot. New perspective? Idk lol
