I feel like scribing has a ceiling, whereas research does not. That is, you can continue to do resume-worthy things in research but after X #hrs, scribing doesn’t really add anything.


If you’re aiming for a top school, then do more research. If you’re looking to get into any med school, get an actual clinical job with more patient interaction.


I’d get a clinical job w patient interaction and just work minimally/part time if you end up doing the research. More $$ in your pocket and it adds to your hours.
