Do you guys recommend taking Genetics +Lab, Physics +Lab, Anatomy + Lab all in the same semester? I'm an upcoming junior and I previously received a D in genetics the first semester of my sophomore year. At my school genetics is only offered in the fall of every year, and being that i plan apply to dental school the spring of my junior year I was just wondering if i should go ahead and overload by taking genetics along side with physics and anatomy? Would dental schools want to see that retaken course when you apply or is it ok to take it after applying. As of now if i apply with the "D" on my transcripts i will be applying with a 3.4 cumulative GPA, while if i retake genetics and get an A I will be applying with a 3.6 cumulative gpa. I just want to know if it would be too much to handle?

I think if you take it fall, technically you will still be applying with a 3.4. Depending on the school’s deadlines. If a school has a December deadline you’d kinda fully submit your application with your grades up to junior year and as they evaluate throughout the fall they would possibly start interview and view your application probably even before your grades are released. I know some schools make late decisions in spring so taking it may be beneficial if they are reviewing applications Dec/Jan etc.

Also if you Got a D the first time, you definitely should retake regardless. Just make sure when you take it this time you can balance the other two classes with with the labs. Having taken the class already you should be slightly more prepared than the first time.
