This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but just out of curiosity, what does the "Rocket Scientist" badge indicate here on SDN? I found one thread that implied the badge is reserved for those who have education or training in aerospace engineering or a related field. Is this correct? It just seemed really specific, so I wasn't sure.
Oh my god , I was wondering the same thing !!!!

It means someone also has an undergraduate or graduate degree in physics or engineering, or a related field. Before the "Rocket Scientist" tag is added to your name, the SDN moderators want you to successfully solve a complex physics/aeronautical engineering problem.

I was told the "Rocket Scientist" tag had something to do with a discussion in SDN a long time ago about "which is more difficult: brain surgery or rocket science?"

Sounds like we need to have a "Brain Surgeon" tag for those with a degree in neuroscience.

And also to revitalize this war.
