For my adversity essay, I was planning on writing about a mild deformity I have and how I overcame it by making the high school basketball team

However, I've heard that mentioning this kinda stuff might cause a problem with medical schools' technical standards.

Would it be best to steer way clear of this topic, or should I just talk about it and emphasize that it's not something that's gonna impact me as a doc moving around the clinic/hospital/etc
This should not be an issue.

A mild physical disability does not disqualify you from medical school. Schools have been known to accept applicants with significant physical disabilities (like paraplegia).

You can always look up and read the school's technical standards if you have any lingering unrest about this issue! That way you can be absolutely certain that there will be no issue.
