at the moment I'm just an applicant, but I was reading up on threads about people who were dismissed by their MD medical school or had their acceptance rescinded before matriculation for whatever reason and was wondering if they could just go DO?

Well what are we talking here? An arrest or something else serious? Or did you anger the AAMC gods by turning down all your As or saying something stupid? Probably makes a difference

The AACOMAS app asked if you have ever matriculated a medical school.

It doesn't apply everywhere, bu at least in my state, our wily old Admissions Dean is very friendly with the Dean at the MD school.

Some secondaries will ask if you're ever been accepted, and where.

Rescinded acceptances also seem school specific so I dont think they would be 'blacklisted', unless the school reached out to AAMC

Since acceptances are reported, I'm pretty sure rescinded acceptances would also be reported. That's a pretty big deal, and I can't imagine why any school would want to hide it from other schools.

Our Admissions Dean has told us that people who engage in egregious things like cheating or lying on their applications will get reported to AACOMAS.
