I see a theme of taking responsibility for family in tough situations. Can you combine 3 and 5 somehow? A lot of other applicants will not have had those experience which speaks to your maturity, resourcefulness and strength.

I actually really like 3. I agree with the previous poster and see if you can combine 3 and 5. The latter, by itself does not seem as strong as your other points.

I have a few ideas for the adversity/personal challenge/challenging situation secondary essay, but I don't think any of them are serious enough.

1 Freshman year of HS I ignored a beeping signal in my house and my basement flooded. Could've been stopped if I had said something about the beep (everyone else was asleep). Felt super guilty since it was expensive to fix, and took a long time --> I learned to be more detail-oriented
2 Going to a public stem boarding school starting my sophomore year of HS, missed out on my siblings growing up and had to deal with being homesick --> learning to be more independent and self sufficient
3 Parent (sole source of income) was laid off and unemployed for a year when I was 11 --> i looked for free resources like food pantries since they didn't know much English, taught me to be resourceful and to find the positives in all situations
4 Struggling with low self esteem because of my body --> got more into working out and staying healthy. Learned how to deal with things in a healthier way and set my mind to accomplish what i want to /etc, etc.
5 Parents would fly overseas to their home country for 3 weeks and I would have to take care of my younger siblings, starting when I was 16 and could drive --> taught me how to be independent and mature

Would appreciate some feedback since I'm pretty lost. Would any of these be worth discussing? Or should I try again
As a teaching moment, I'm seeing too many examples similar to #1.,
"I didn't do something I should have and then felt guilty about it"

That is not what i want to see.

3 and 5 are good.

I like that idea - those suggestions make sense! Thanks guys. Any adcoms have any feedback on that idea? [
I agree with this idea.
