Explain to me with AMCAS explicitly having separate categories for clinical volunteering and shadowing that you thought it wasnt worth having them separate?

Can you clarify on this? I was under the assumption, based on the Work/Activities thread for this year and previous years, that it was acceptable to group experiences of separate categories. For example, listing a relevant research publication as part of a "Research/Lab" experience. Based on that, it seems reasonable to include doctor-patient observations and shadowing within a clinical experience entry.

If you have a publication that has been fully accepted you list it under publications

. . . unless you a) have zero space for another entry and the pub would otherwise go unmentioned, or b) the pub was in a campus journal rather than a peer-reviewed regional or national journal.

If you have a clinical experience that includes volunteering/employment as well as shadowing/observation you should make two listings splitting hours appropriately. A school may categorize/classify based on what you have listed as the activity prior to reading the activity

Agreed. If you're lucky, an astute reader will parse out the two activities for you and not ding you for a critical missing EC.

I don’t know if I am that lucky. Is there anything I can do now? Apparently I can’t change my primary application. Let’s say the person who reads my application is not that careful, Is no shadowing lethal even if I have high stat? I am working on my secondary but I don’t know if I am just wasting money and time on an application that would be rejected anyway. Should I just forget this cycle and reapply next year?

Some schools group all active and passive clinical experiences together and evaluate the totality of hours. Some schools don't include shadowing on their check list. At some schools, high stats will wash out some application weaknesses. And, as mentioned, some will separate them out for you. There's no way you can know what evaluation system is used, as these things are rarely advertised. As gonnif said, just apply.
