so, i would try this: instead of writing, turn on a recorder, and just talk about it out loud. Freely. After that - listen to it. I noticed that talking about something sometimes helps to "open up" more, if it makes any sense.@M&L thanks so much for your response! & yes, as in gambling/casino gaming industry lol. I'm going to give that angle a try. I agree it will stand out if I can portray the message well.
sounds like there are stories to be told....Welll... AC is an interesting town that is for sure lol
Ive only been there once and I got terribly sick from some virus i picked up while on my peds rotation lololsounds like there are stories to be told....
Introspection is a required trait for a dr.PLEASE DON'T QUOTE ME IF YOU REPLY! I'd like to remove the specific info after I get feedback.
I don't want to discuss ethnoracial diversity because I did that on my primary already. I don’t really have any interesting hobbies. I’m into music/dance and partake in a dance class but it’s very casual. I also didn’t dance in college and I feel like with hobbies they look for longevity (but well, btw the jobs, classes, service, clinical work, there was just no time for much other than an occasional hangout with my friends).
something I’m trying to work that isn’t quite working: I grew up in AC and have been trying to use how growing up around casinos my whole life shaped me—exposed to different people and lifestyles. also as immigrants, this is a way of life in my family. literally everyone has worked in the casino at some point, including myself. If I didn’t leave my state to go to college, I’d prob still be there right with them. But then I struggle to connect it back to how I can contribute that to the diversity of a school.
I have literally gone through every diversity example essay on the internet and just can't relate to anything. And even those more common traits and qualities and experiences I’ve seen (ie. cooking, swimming, etc) end with “because of this I started this org” or “because of this I became a 15-year Olympic gold medalist”. I just don’t have that and I’m becoming so frustrated with myself that I can’t come up with anything.
So if anyone out there is willing to help me out before I throw my hands up at this entire process because I can’t figure out something interesting to write, please do. I hate to ask for help about this but I've really tried and time is escaping me. 🙁
