1. Do well in your classes and develop strong study/time management skills.
2. Learn strategies to manage stress and anxiety.
3. Develop healthy lifestyle habits around nutritious food and exercise
4. Develop relationships with your professors so that you can ask them for letters of rec
5. Engage in some activities for fun and other activities in which you serve those less fortunate than yourself.

At 16, you’re too young for many of the interesting volunteer /employed clinical positions. There will likely be restrictions in place for some time. For now, focus on your classes and maybe reach out to doctors to shadow in the spring.
 
To the wise advice above, add:
6. Have fun. You're too young and med schools aren't going anywhere.
7. Get a job, preferably in a service role, even if it's being a barista or cooking burgers at Micky Ds. Employment skills are always good.
