What medical schools want you to be in school within two years of applying? If you have a 4.0, how is it pretentious to say you have a 4.0?
I recommend treating the medical school application process as a full time job for ~3 months. If you have financial obligations that necessitate working, I recommend delaying for a cycle so that you can save enough to take time off to apply. I sincerely regret working even part-time during the process. I don't believe pre-studying is a high yield because you won't know exactly what context will be covered or how it will be tested. It also puts you at a higher risk for burnout. Does your application have healthcare volunteering, nonclinical volunteering, leadership and experience with diverse populations?
