First step is admitting that and not making excuses. When they contact you, tell the truth and say it was a stupid careless thing to do and you regret it. Excuses will just piss them off more. Let the chips fall and do whatever they want to get yourself out of this.I think so. I got screwed..
I'm in an MPH program.
Fast forward, for one of the classes, I copied answers from online for one class exercise and the professor contacted my advisor about it. I was super tired and exhausted for 2 weeks from illness. The professor said he would take an action (not sure what it is) for it. The professor doesn't like me for many reasons..What should I do now? Can I even graduate?
???? You copied answers and you think you cheated and got screwed??I think so. I got screwed..
I feel like your blowing this out of proportion. I mean it certainly won't help them at all, but it was just one class exercise. This seems like something very fixable after they take responsibility for what they did and speak with their school about how to deal with the situation. I think it should be something that they learn from, but I don't think they should just throw out their hopes of dental school because of it.As for graduating, I think that depends on your school policy so I would direct that question to your advisor.
As for getting into healthcare professional school, it will be tough. Adcom will doubt everything in your application. You got caught once, but that just means you cheated "at least" once. Your GPA is pretty much gone. Frankly, if I were in your shoes, I would start thinking about plan B.

Oh no. I didn't suggest he should give up, but I would suggest he should prepare himself for alternate career path if it doesn't work out because it is definitely something you don't want to have in your application.I feel like your blowing this out of proportion. I agree that it definitely puts an asterisk on things. But if they take responsibility for it, face the consequences, and get very strong letters of recommendation I feel like they can make this look like a clear one time lack of judgement situation. That being said their attitude towards the situation seemed to be as if they don’t feel bad about it which is what is more concerning here.Oh no. If you have a great GPA with academic misconduct, adcom will question your contribution in it. If you have average GPA with academic misconduct, adcom will just go for another applicant with average GPA. That's why I said GPA is pretty much gone.
