Contact your local dental association. They usually have a list of volunteer dentists who are available to help other ailing dentists. The help can range from substance abuse issues, personal issues, etc. etc.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a therapist for dentists in particular, who are familiar with the struggles of dental school/ the profession of dentistry?
Just to be clear, not to be confused with “Dental Therapy”, the mid-level career within the dental profession. They actually treat patients and their scope of work bridges the gap between dental hygienists and dentists.
As far as helping dental professionals with their personal struggles, that’s probably outside the profession. Probably from a psychiatrist, mental health counselor, personal coach, etc.
