Hi,
I have seen similar forum posts about this question, but none that were really answered my question specifically.
I was writing the description for my publication on AMCAS and the current format looks like this:
"Author 1, me, author 3. Title. Journal (Year).
doi: __________
A brief 2-3 sentences about the project, results, etc"
Should I replace the doi with the PMID? Not sure if there is any preference
Also, would I need to explicitly say "I was second author", or would the current format of the citation having my name in it be enough?
If your contribution wasn't mentioned in your affiliated Research slot, then you can state it here.I also was not planning on writing out my exact contributions or anything.
That is sufficient.I actually have multiple publications and had slightly different roles in each. Both were through the same lab though. I felt it would be unnecessarily wordy to include my specific contributions to each one as they were more or less similar with minor changes here and there (stuff like not being involved for the data collection for one, etc). But I do have a general line in the affiliated Research slot that goes like:
I participated in the research process at all levels, including the collection of data, statistical analysis, writing grant applications, and manuscript preparation.
Would that be sufficient, or should I really specify what I did for each publication?
