Hey all, back in high school a few other students and I worked on writing a book with a professor. It's a short textbook/reference text (but doesn't have original research) on a science topic and I was just notified that it got published and is currently on Amazon. I was wondering if this book is worth listing on AMCAS/whether it counts as a publication, considering that 1) this was an activity I did several years ago back in high school (and did not continue it in college), but the book only got through the publishing phase now; and 2) it doesn't have original peer-reviewed research, and was published through a small publisher (or self-published by the professor, I'm not completely sure).

I'm involved in a research lab now, but am not expecting any publications by the time I apply so I was wondering if this book would have any impact that makes it worth mentioning. I'm listed as a co-author on the cover. Thanks for any insight!
What was your contribution that made you worth including as an author? What is the topic of the book?

I and the other authors each wrote parts of the book. It's an introduction to a human physiological system, so not directly about medicine but related.
