It’s going to be hard for lots of people here to give you any sympathy with this one.

That being said there are a lot of factors that could influence why you haven’t heard from other schools i.e complete dates, how they individually stratified your application, that medical school’s II timeline etc. I’m sure others who are not going to take this post as if it’s trolling can give more wisdom like @Goro @LizzyM @gonnif and others

Hello! I'm writing this post because I have not heard from medical schools in A WHILE.

I got 5 interviews in September. Throughout October and November, I got accepted to all 5 schools. I was super thankful for this and I guess I did well in my interviews.

BUT, I have not received any interview invites in October or November. I'm confused why I got a rush of invites in September, but nothing now.

The schools I got interviews at and got accepted to are around T50. A lot of the schools that I have not heard from are in the T10-40 range

My stats: 509 MCAT, 3.75 GPA, T20 undergrad, going straight through (no gap year), 75-100%tile in casper
My extracurriculars:
  • clinical: 300 hr caregiving, 100 hr clinical research, 375 hr volunteer in hospital, 150 hr shadowing
  • paid employment: 800 hr writer for college newspaper, 500 hr student leader in program
  • leadership: 1000 hr president of volunteer club, 200 hr committee chair for org, 180 hr mentor for program
  • research: 1200 hr in lab, 2 publications, 2 poster presentations
  • artistic: 250 hr in community music volunteering

I know that my stats are a bit lower, but I thought my extracurriculars were above average??
Nice humblebrag. But seriously, your stats aren't T10-20 (which include some 30-40 schools) competitive. That said, in four years, you will be a doctor!

So go read this:

You got what you deserved and congratulations, unlike most applicants, you will have choices. Well done! Relax and enjoy the rest of the ride to Mars.

Two publications and some poster presentations are not enough to balance a 509/3.75. At a T20 I'm interviewing people with two publications, 2 poster presentations, 519/3.95.

Really? Last cycle only about 36% of all applicants were accepted anywhere and half of those were accepted at ONE school. Be happy, be humble and be thankful. You know before Christmas you are going to be a doctor. Congratulations.
