Not really about benefiting the application... Would it be better to write about one or the other?

When you are writing about experiences on your application, you should write about what you are passionate about. I really don’t think you can prepick one of the two with the assumption you will be passionate enough to write an essay.
And just a FYI, TAing isn’t a great or impressive activity on your application. I’m assuming you are being paid. Is that correct? If so I’d honestly find another job off campus out of your comfort zone.
