Hi,

My lab just published a journal on a research project I've worked on for a year. I am mentioned in the author's notes for my contributing work. I was wondering if this is as good as a publication to put on a medical school application. and how adcoms will view it? It's published in exp psych: general.
Nope. If you're not an author, you're not an author.

What they did was give you a glorified acknowledgement.

It's not your publication; you are only mentioned in the notes. Presumably, this will be consistent with what you already have in your application as a research EC. This is not going to add anything to that -- the project you worked on led to a publication, but you were not an author, so it's not a publication for you.
