I know that schools that participate in EDP often require a meeting with their AOs prior to applying, are these applicants just taking advantage of this requirement and then subsequently not applying ED there? Thanks!

It's admissions office/dean-dependent, but some (many?) schools are receptive to pre-application counseling. You just have to contact the school and ask.

This will probably work best if you can appear in person, so you may be limited to local or nearby schools. They may only accept such requests during certain times of the year.

I don't understand why you want to do this, can you explain? It's more common for college to visit schools etc before applying, was that what you did?

I saw that UNC Chapel offers 10 minute appointments on Zoom (not sure if this is for everyone or just UNC undergrads though), and I was wondering if other schools offer the same opportunity.

I know that some schools like Weill explicitly state that they do not provide individual advice, but for schools that do not state that, would it be worth reaching out or am I overthinking it?

It is unusual for applicants to request/do this. I would look for advertised public admissions events or medical school fairs and attend those.

Just ask of they ever do one-on-one meetings with potential applicants. The goal is for someone inside an admissions office to look at your qualifications (EAM = experiences, attributes, metrics) and give feedback on where you stand. The worst thing that happens is they say no.

Your mileage will definitely vary, but your best odds are probably with public school(s) in your state that are more mission-driven and receive relatively fewer applications. I'm sure if you send such a request to one of the private schools that receives 15,000+ applications each year they will laugh as they delete your email.
