Fortunately the market is increasingly pushing so that hospitals have to subsidize radiology reimbursement to help cover various call coverages or services. I may be wrong but, if the current trend continues, CMS can cut reimbursement until the damn cows come home. Without us the hospital and specialist services screech to a halt. If CMS won’t value us appropriately, the free market will.
Wondering if this will hurt academics more than PP seeing as most of the hospital patients are medicare patients. But I'm sure private insurance companies use medicare fees to decide their reimbursement too.
