Do you think the SMP is worth it with this GPA and context for MD? I am sort of terrified of going to Duke's SMP because of what everyone says: how hard it is and how you need to get close to a 4.0, and specifically for Duke, there is no linkage. Are there any schools you think should def be on my list when applying for MD?
Your state MD school
Wayne State

I don't normally recommend a SMP for candidates with overall GPAs/science GPAs of 3.5 (where yours is closest)... more likely those nearer 3.2 GPA.

What grabs my eye: 300 shadowing hours, 800 internship hours, 800+ volunteer hours. The details would be nice to know to see if you have more of a mission fit with schools if you are unwilling to share your unique journey.

You are fine to apply this month. I suggest these schools with your stats:
