15 inch Macbook is it too large? Does anyone use it in med school?

I won't play games but I just like the larger screen size. I'm just curious about the portability side of it as I've never had macbook before.

I like the 13 inch air. It's cheaper, lighter, and all that you need for watching lectures / using the internets. You also can't game on it so it eliminates that temptation.

The screen is not too large and it's certainly portable. I've seen other people carrying heavier and larger laptops before.

It might not be as cheap and light as macbook air, but my 5 year old 15" macbook pro still runs like new. I am getting a lot of mileage out of this laptop, and I don't think I need to purchase a new laptop for another 3-5 years.

I have a 2012 15" MacBook Pro that I've been using in med school. I appreciate the larger screen, especially with the split screen feature. I've never had an issue with its size and it fits perfectly fine on our school's various desks.

You'll have to ask yourself if you feel you really need the bigger size, because the cost definitely jumps up. If you're fine with a 13" when using at school, you could always buy a cheap external monitor for home and have a big screen there. For me, spending that money initially was worth it and 5 years later it's still going strong.

The regular Macbook is now actually lighter than the Macbook Air. I hear the Air will be discontinued soon. I think the 15" Pro is totally overkill if you just need something for school. Weighs twice as much too.

I just got the 13" macbook pro. It's light and packs more power than I'll ever need. I got a ps4 for games. I mostly just write on my computer, surf the web and watch videos. Anything more would have felt like using a rocketlauncher to kill an ant.

You can split the difference and get a 14' laptop. I have a 15.6 and only started to get inconvenient if I needed to carry it around with me on the wards.

I have 13' MacBook Pro and 13' iPad Pro. Since getting ipad I have no use for MBP. Also Apple Pencil for ipad is amazing for annotating notes. Just download one note or notability.
