It depends which school tier. That’s probably most important for IM if you look at lists of top placesI have a somewhat similar app. Your grades are better as I was 3rd quartile and my research/work experience is probably a bit better. Here's what I'm doing, welcome thoughts. What are other good mid-tier schools to include and am I shooting too high? I want to shoot my shot at Briigham and Stanford, so keeping those golds. Open to changing everything else.
Gold
- Briigham
- Stanford
- UNC
Silver
- Cornell
- Yale
- BIDMC
- UTSW
- BU
- NYU
- Baylor
- GTown
- Tufts
- Mayo Florida
- USF
- Rutgers RJW

Probably good then, but if it was me I’d probably switch BWH to silver and make Cornell, Yale, NYU a goldMid-tier top 50 USMD
Would brigham look at me as a silver?Probably good then, but if it was me I’d probably switch BWH to silver and make Cornell, Yale, NYU a gold
Dude take this advice with a pillar of salt, @voxveritatisetlucis is a student just like us lmfao.Would brigham look at me as a silver?
Fair enough but I think I post enough about student topics that most on the forums would know I’m a student. Also just look at the bwh chief resident page (the others don’t show med schools) to see that the large majority come from top schools. I’m guessing most of the ones who don’t were AOADude take this advice with a pillar of salt, @voxveritatisetlucis is a student just like us lmfao.
@voxveritatisetlucis, you should consider giving the disclaimer that you're not a resident, PD, etc when you give advice. With all due respect, you don't really know what you're talking about anymore than any of the other students. Reasonable to give your opinion if you want, but would be cautious sounding so confident about your advice.
